About S.T.A.R.S. (The Stratford Animal Rescue Society)
|
The Stratford Animal Rescue Society is a non-profit volunteer organization, founded in September 2000, with the unaminous support of the Stratford Town Council to promote the cause of animal welfare for animals housed in the Stratford Animal Control Facility. Our primary purpose is to facilitate and expedite adoptions of homeless animals into homes. In addition, we raise funds through private donations and public fundraisers to provide food and medical care for animals impounded at the Stratford Animal Control Facility.
Running for Rescue Lifelong Stratford Resident Kate Smith will be running her first Half Marathon on Labor Day, Monday September 06, 2010. Eight years ago, Kate & her husband adopted their rescue dog "Lulu" from the Stratford Animal Shelter and has had such a wonderful experience that she is giving back and dedicating her run to the Stratford Animal Rescue Society as her charity of choice.
